Privacy Policy

We collect minimal data and never sell it. Here is everything you need to know about how SOCIFINGAME handles your privacy.

Privacy Last updated: March 2026

1. Who We Are

SOCIFINGAME ("we," "us," "our") operates a free social online gaming platform accessible at this website. We are the data controller responsible for the personal data processed in connection with your use of the Platform. As a platform that operates within the European Union and serves users in Finland, we are committed to compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU 2016/679) and applicable Finnish data protection legislation.

2. What Data We Collect

SOCIFINGAME does not require user registration and does not request or store personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or payment details. Because of this, the amount of personal data we process is minimal. The data we may collect falls into two categories: (a) Technical data — such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited. This data is collected automatically when you visit the Platform. (b) Cookie data — small text files stored in your browser that allow us to remember your age verification consent and cookie preferences across sessions. See Section 4 for full details.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process technical and cookie data on the following legal bases under GDPR: (a) Consent (Article 6(1)(a)): When you accept optional analytics cookies through our cookie consent interface, we rely on your freely given consent. You may withdraw this consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies. (b) Legitimate Interests (Article 6(1)(f)): We process certain technical data (such as server logs and session data) to maintain the security, stability, and proper functioning of the Platform. This processing is necessary for our legitimate interests and does not override your fundamental rights.

4. Cookies and How We Use Them

SOCIFINGAME uses three categories of browser cookies: (a) Essential cookies: These cookies are strictly necessary for the Platform to function. They store your age verification confirmation and your cookie preference choices so that you are not asked to re-confirm on every visit. These cookies cannot be disabled without impairing the Platform's functionality. They are stored for up to 365 days. (b) Analytics cookies: If you consent, we use anonymised analytics tools to understand aggregate patterns of how visitors navigate the Platform — for example, which games are most popular and how long sessions last. This data is never linked to any individual user and contains no personally identifiable information. (c) Preference cookies: If you consent, these cookies remember certain display or gameplay preferences to improve your experience on return visits. You may withdraw consent to analytics and preference cookies at any time by clearing your browser cookies. Essential cookies remain active regardless of your choice.

5. How We Use Your Information

The limited data we collect is used exclusively to: (a) deliver and maintain the functionality of the Platform; (b) enforce the 19+ age restriction and record your consent to our terms; (c) analyse anonymous, aggregated usage patterns to improve the Platform and its game library; (d) detect, investigate, and prevent technical issues, security incidents, and fraudulent or abusive behaviour; (e) comply with applicable legal obligations. We do not use your data to send marketing communications, build user profiles, or serve targeted advertising of any kind.

6. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party. Data may be shared only in the following limited circumstances: (a) Service providers: We may engage trusted third-party service providers (such as hosting infrastructure or analytics platforms) who process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements compliant with GDPR. These providers are prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing services to us. (b) Legal requirements: We may disclose data to law enforcement authorities, regulators, or courts if required to do so by applicable Finnish or EU law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SOCIFINGAME, our users, or the public. (c) Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to the same privacy protections.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by applicable law. Age verification and cookie consent records stored via browser cookies are retained for up to 365 days, after which they expire automatically and you will be asked to re-confirm on your next visit. Server log data is retained for a limited period for security and diagnostic purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Analytics data is stored in anonymised, aggregated form and is not linked to individual users.

8. Your Rights Under GDPR

As a data subject under GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data: (a) Right of access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. (b) Right to rectification: You may request correction of any inaccurate personal data. (c) Right to erasure: You may request deletion of your personal data where there is no lawful basis for continued processing. (d) Right to restriction of processing: You may request that we restrict the processing of your data in certain circumstances. (e) Right to data portability: Where processing is based on consent or contract, you may request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format. (f) Right to withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing. (g) Right to lodge a complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutettu) if you believe your data has been processed unlawfully. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 10.

9. Children's Privacy

SOCIFINGAME is strictly for users aged 19 and older. We do not knowingly collect or process personal data from individuals under 19 years of age. If we become aware that personal data has been collected from a person under the minimum age, we will take immediate steps to delete that data. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has accessed or used the Platform, please contact us immediately.

10. Contact Us

If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or the way we handle your data, you may contact us by using the contact form available on our website. We will endeavour to respond to all legitimate enquiries within 30 days. For complaints that remain unresolved, you have the right to contact the Office of the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutettu), PO Box 800, FI-00521 Helsinki, Finland.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
